Pray

Things change as the people of God unite together to ask for His blessing

“Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.” Matthew 18:19)

and so, we really appreciate the prayer support that is given to us by our supporters.

Protection

We choose to work with the poorest and most marginalised people because God loves them. The fact is that the poorest people are also the people who live in the most dangerous places in the world – dealing on a daily basis with disease, oppression and injustice, conflict and war.

Pray for the people we work with in the Uganda, Kenya, Malawi and in Scotland that they may be protected by the God who loves them.

“For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock.” Psalm 27:5

Provision

For all the people that we work with week in week out there are big issues to face and overcome. Each day starts with a battle against hunger, thirst and inadequate shelter. Pray with these people that God would provide each day the things they need to make it through the day – and the courage and strength of heart to takes steps towards a better future.

As an organisation we can only help people as far as our resources can be stretched. Pray for Signpost International that God would supply all the resources we need to help those who God is giving us to care for today.

Provocation

As a charity that takes action against poverty we are very aware that sometimes giving help is not enough – we have to start taking action against the systems and unjust practices that trap people in poverty in the first place. In the Lord’s prayer we pray `Your kingdom come`, and that kingdom is a kingdom of justice and peace. Pray that there would be a seismic shift in the world toward peace and justice and pray for God to show you how you can make a difference.
